Help Build a School in Africa
Our mission is to build a permanent rural school in one of the world’s poorest countries, Guinea-Bissau. A school and adjoining well will help break the cycle of poverty and will give an elementary school education to children who have no access to any type of schooling.

Kids are Kids Everywhere
The finish line for Budapest-Bamako 2012 was Bissau. The capital of the west Africa country of Guinea-Bissau. We stayed in Bissau a number of days to sell our truck, The Wildebeest.
Outside our hotel was a red dirt parking lot, drainage ditch and an open area litter with trash the size of three America football fields. In the middle of the garbage field was a loosely built bamboo shack surrounding a small tree. Zman is the 2 year old that lives there with his family. Seemingly healthy little pant-less guy full of wonder and energy. Just a kid being a kid not knowing he lives in one of the poorest countries in the world.
School in Guinea-Bissau
Visiting this school in east Guinea-Bissau was very emotional for me. The school has capacity for only 30 of 800 children in this village. Lack of the opportunity for education is pervasive in this part of Africa.
We are continuing to raise money to help break the cycle of poverty one person at a time.

Day One Movie
I edited this video while in the backseat of The Wildebeest as we drove non-stop from Italy to Morocco. I’ve been attempting to upload it for nearly 3-weeks. Success in Bissau! Enjoy.

Cinq Gars Dans un Camion
We are in Senegal at Parc National du Niololo Koba. Pushing on! Today we’re racing to Guinea-Bissau.
Doing our Breakfast Dishes in Mauritania
We’ve been buying lots of fresh vegetables and cooking our meals. Was nice to find some wash and sand to clean our dishes up.
B2 Beach in Mauritania
We had a challenging, but educational day learning how to drive in loose sand. The finish for yesterday’s stage was at the beach in the photo. We arrived by driving at low tide to this site. It was truly an amazing location in the middle of nowhere.
Everyone is healthy and safe. Tomorrow we head into Senegal!
